This December, I’ll visit the lonely, sip amongst the sad and shop for our aristocrats. That is to say; I’ll be indulging in the utmost conspicuous of consuming.
I skipped last December because I was running from the lonely, drunk near the sad, yet dreaming of being noble. And so, like each year, I’ve come full circle to write us a new December.
It’ll be a December to remember, with many hot toddies next to timber and gifts wrapped so slender. Some people will get socks wrapped in a neat box. Others will unwrap a box and be upset it’s just socks…
But that’s okay; they’ll remember it’s not the thought that counts but why their feet are warmer when sipping hot bourbon.
A December to remember means you can’t please everybody because you’ll always have the option to be a nobody, dreaming of somebody.
And so, bye-bye for now—and for any reason, make it a great holiday season 😊
