In the moments before the sun rose, the horizon was a gradient landscape of colors from mango, orange, strawberries, to banana, smeared across nature’s vast peaking landscape. And I thought, what if the sun never rises? What if it gets stuck behind the mountain and we’re left waiting on this side of Earth for it to take part in its role of global photosynthesis?
Fortunately, the sun broke the horizon, danced down the mountain, shuffled through the forestry valleys, and dazzled the spectating eyes of us sun-gazing fools. Through the early moments of rising, when I was granted a graceful period to gaze into its gleaming circular presence, I braced for the reality of going blind.
Perhaps true grace isn’t always what you can appreciate seeing, or experiencing…
