Orange Moon

It’s looking for you, too,

Right over the horizon’s view,

Don’t glimmer, don’t squint, it’s due,

And soon, it’ll shine bright as you.

Don’t wait, it ain’t late, it’s fate,

Soulmate date—don’t chase,

Just pace, and doubt…

You best erase,

That’s great,

Now taste,

Never…

Wait,

-Budd

This poem came to mind while listening to “Pure Imagination”, a song by Gene Wilder off the Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory soundtrack. It’s also one of fourteen songs inspiring a prompted journal write up in my latest book, A Muse In Tunes.

It’s not a book of poetry, but it’s a book written through a muse I’ve carried since childhood. That is, creative writing, thinking, and unfolding my deepest passions to those who care. Imagination is just that, constructed images through mind. It comes to truth when you allow yourself to creatively produce it into reality. And lately, I’ve learned to take deep breaths, let go of the images, and feel them return.

It can be as simple as staring at the moon.
