Never write a book no one can pronounce; a self-publishing rule I shouldn’t have to number. And a rule that was never on the sheet; learn them well enough to break them. Which comes with a risk.

Readers won’t get you, your family will be confused about your goals, and from a world of jaded readers you become a part of the modern day Babylon of words published on the internet.

Pick your poison; follow the many structures of past success stories in hope it fuels you to accomplish your goals? Or, follow your gut instincts into a bliss of what feels right?

Either way you’re meant to be where you’re at today.

Now about my birthday — for the next seven days I’m writing to my birthday present. On Wednesday, December 18, 2019 I’ll turn 33 years old!

Remember me Dr. Barbara Ferre?

I began writing the below book on my 32nd birthday last year. It’s the one most people can’t pronounce.

On December 18, 2018, I began writing Book One of The Divine IX Trilogy: ‘BOURGEOSIE I(bo͝orZHwäˈzē) — about a boy from tribal land in Africa who ‘fixes’ racism on refined American soil. He establishes rules in the days he learns about a new colorful land off the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Throughout his journey those rules guide him into his ultimate fate of construction. He writes to the city of Port Avanti to show them something different. It touches on classism, colorism, and if I’m forgetting an ism you’ll read about it.

This is an urban fantasy indie novel I’m crowdfunding through to complete and self-publish. The link above will take you to the promotional stories and chapter previews.

Again, about my birthday…

Donate $3 to my GoFundme! Why $3? Because Damon Stoudamire wore no. 3 on the Portland Trailblazers.

And it’s how much I donated to Wikipedia last night checking something…

Donate $13! Because there’s nothing wrong with the 13th level of a building. Like all the isms, they’ll be there whether you label it as something else or not.

And 13 was once my lucky number.

Donate $23! Because at that age it was 2009 and I began writing secret letters. Some I probably should burn, not because of any one individual, but I didn’t think I’d make it to 33 in those words.

Talk about a 10 year challenge…

When I say love letters I’m referring to my misunderstanding of love, trust, and protecting my skill.

It was Jim Jimkins’ Doug that I recall imitating when I’d rearrange my bedroom like the character to write in my journal. When I stopped writing I was in high school. Then in college my words were melancholy upon returning to the pen and paper.

Last year I made a commitment to stick to it by all means necessary. Today, it’s about the trust in my commitment to keep on keepin’ on after receiving your $3 donation, or excuse me, your heartfelt support.

Maybe I’ll write for you someday, I don’t discriminate. I’m happy to speak about my journey to the breath which finds you.

Although a slow start to the funding campaign, there are several outside opportunities I’m seeking in getting the GoFundMe fully funded through sponsorships, etc..

My goal is to connect with more readers for their support, write books people can pronounce, and fulfill the meaning behind all these words I type.

Donate with a ‘3’ in it! Why? Because I’m as random as the chance I’ve been given. It’s ambiguity at work. If you’ve read this far, I got here by choosing my gut instincts and it’s lead me to you 🙂
